Concert Over

It was a great weekend all round for me and my photography because on Saturday I went back to Myrtle Forest at Collinsvale in Tasmania and was surprised to find new fungi had sprung up everywhere. This must have happened after some much needed rain earlier in the week. Images I took on Saturday can be seen in the gallery called Myrtle Forest Fungi.

On Sunday my husband and I ventured out in showery weather to Recherche Bay in southern Tasmania and although not the best weather for photography we had a most enjoyable day there.

When I got home on Sunday night I got the most marvellous news and what a surprise. I won the set theme competition of the month for Passion for Pixels with the image you can see here. The competition theme was musical instruments and this was the first competition I have entered for this web based club. It is such a thrill to win, knowing the quality of the other entries and the calibre of some of the photographers who also entered. So, I am absolutely stoked and look forward to entering again.

A most enjoyable weekend for photography and I look forward to this next weekend where I shall be out and about again with my cameras.

Flying High New Norfolk Festival

Had a wonderful day at the New Norfolk Festival yesterday. A couple of friends and myself went there to take some shots and had a great day watching the events. There were speed boats and kayaks and canoes on the river all competing in different events. Kids were everywhere all having a great time including watching the Snake Man with his snakes (shudder) and lizzards. He offered good advice on what to do if ever anyone gets bitten by a snake. Good advice I think.

There were the skate board riders that we all enjoyed watching, all three of us trying for that special shot.
Lots of food and lots of bumping into friends and people I knew.

I have created a new gallery just for this event so I hope you enjoy the images.
