One of the highlights of our stay in Strahan was a trip on the steam train from Strahan to Queenstown.

It was a ride that I will never forget with the train, a combination of steam and deisel, now carrying passengers instead of during the early 1900's copper from the Mt Lyall Mine in Queenstown. The journey was approximately 35 kilometers long and the sun shone all day. The train travels through rainforest, across many bridges and through dense forests of Leatherwood, Sassafras and Huon Pine.

Many of the shots in the gallery were taken from the small balcony at the back of the train while the train was moving which will explain why some of them are a little out of focus but worth a look anyway.

This is a trip I will do again one day as it was fantastic. Lots of lovely food and champagne was served on board and the people we met were wonderful.

Hope you enjoy.
